A Cheetah’s Journey Through Climate Change


From household pets to zoo visits, cats are a familiar obsession for most people. The cheetah is a fascinating, speedy animal with five subspecies. Slim and muscular, it has a small and round head crowning a long neck which extends from a deep chest, flexible spine, long tail, and feet padded for speed. Its claws don’t retract, acting similar to soccer player’s cleats by providing extra traction. This lithe, long, and lovely creature inspires children to run around playgrounds, yelling, “I’m a cheetah!”

4 Reasons Earth Day Is Important to Our Planet


Earth Day, an annual celebration of the efforts made to support the environment, occurs on April 22nd throughout the world. This day is meant to help raise awareness of environmental issues through rallies, service projects, conferences, and other outdoor activities. Although Earth Day began as a small grassroots movement, its existence has propelled the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the passage of the Clean Air Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Water Quality Improvement Act, the Federal Occupational Health and Safety Act, and others.

A Monarch Butterfly’s Journey Through Climate Change


As children, butterflies represented the magic of fairies and long summer day adventures. Little one's dreamed of what colors wings they would have or flapped their arms and pretended to fly. The monarch butterfly established its reign over all the butterflies with its brilliant golden orange patterned wing. Also going by the name of common tiger, black veined brown, and wanderer, this majestic winged insect struggles to survive in a changing climate.
